Major League Baseball: AL Wild Card Race

AL Wild Card

Seattle Mariners LogoNew York Yankees LogoAs always, the American League Wild Card race is going to be a fun one to watch this year. Although, if you’re a fan of one of the teams close in it, you might be biting your nails a ton, too. This year it looks like three, maybe four teams are in the running. Right now, the New
York Yankees are on top at 76-60. 2 games behind the Yanks are the 73-61 Seattle Mariners. 3 games behind the Yankees are the 73-63 Detroit Tigers. Since the All-Star break, Detroit has really been faltering, and they’ve been having lots of trouble just getting two out of three in one series. On the other hand, Cleveland has been on fire, just tearing up the competition, it seems like these days they’re winning every game. Read the rest of this entry »

Major League Baseball: AL East Playoff Race

It’s September. There’s just one month left until October. The playoff races are on in all six divisions, plus the Wild Card. By this time, each year, there might already be a couple of teams who have run away with their divisions, but this year, each division is still up for grabs, for at least two teams in it. I’ll be doing a complete analysis on each division race and the teams that are in that race, along with my pick to win that division. Read the rest of this entry »
